Iveda and People Power Announce IoT Collaboration for Senior Care

MESA, Ariz. (December 23, 2019) – Iveda® (OTCMKTS:IVDA), worldwide provider of IvedaAI™ video analytics, IoT platform, smart devices and the Sentir® cloud-based video surveillance platform, today announced collaboration with People Power, a leading IoT (Internet of Things) software company specializing in senior care, security and energy management. Iveda will supply the company with devices for an important senior care research project. The hardware componentry will enable research led by People Power, funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and in collaboration with the University of California, Berkeley, Psychophysiology Laboratory.

Iveda will enable People Power’s advanced senior care solutions with an IoT gateway, entry, motion and water leak sensors, and a wirelessly connected one-touch button for system control and emergency notifications. The senior care device portfolio also includes a bed sensor and a wearable device that together track and monitor rest and activity cycles. Iveda’s gateway, acting as a geographic area hub, features an IoT Cluster Controller that links all IoT devices to maintain a single point of failure allowing the gateway to control and communicate with many IoT devices. People Power’s initial order for hundreds of IoT gateways and thousands of smart sensors and devices to support the program will be shipped in January 2020.

“People Power is a new sales channel for Iveda. Every new and existing senior care customer potentially needs our gateway, smart sensors and devices. We are fortunate to partner with People Power who truly understands the needs of the growing senior care market,” said David Ly, CEO of Iveda. “Combining Iveda’s smart home devices with People Power’s IoT System delivers a powerful combination that could deliver exponential growth in the coming year.”

Iveda’s entry into the consumer and institutional senior care markets through People Power could be lucrative.

“Every day, 10,000 Americans turn 65 and 90% of them will prefer to age at home. Baby boomers are projected to have 70% of all U.S. disposable income over the next five years, and will inherit about $15 trillion in the next 20 years,” said Gene Wang, CEO and cofounder of People Power Co. “With Iveda’s industry-leading IoT devices and People Power’s advanced AI technology, we will deliver valuable senior care services that send alerts when emergency situations such as falls are detected, with the ability to monitor sleep quality and medication adherence, and to connect seniors with family and friends to reduce loneliness and improve quality of life.”

With the world’s aging population, new technology is a crucial element in senior care where growing demand may outstrip the availability of full-time caregivers. Illustrating industry adoption of People Power’s advanced solutions featuring Iveda’s devices, People Power recently announced a partnership with TheraCare, Inc., a leading caregiving agency focused on safe home environments and customized care for seniors and persons with disabilities.

“Senior care is a new technology application for Iveda. Current collaboration with People Power also includes utilizing our IvedaAI intelligent video search technology for real-time alerts and decision-making support for smart buildings and smart city projects,” said Ly.

Iveda Introduces Vemo, 4G Mobile Camera Communications Device

MESA, Ariz. (October 10, 2019)Iveda® (OTCMKTS:IVDA), worldwide provider of IvedaAI video analytics, IoT platform for smart devices and the Sentir® cloud-based video surveillance platform, today announced the introduction of Vemo™, the next-generation multi-purpose mobile camera communications device.

Using 4G, Vemo streams live video to headquarters and doubles as a walkie talkie with a push-to-talk feature. With its multi-mode audio, it can also be used for broadcasting and hands-free audio conferencing for group talk. Vemo has WiFi capability which is ideal for city-wide deployments. This saves the city cellular data cost where WiFi infrastructure exists.

“Vemo came at a perfect time as we are actively engaged in multiple smart city projects that can definitely use it,” said David Ly, CEO of Iveda. “We plan to announce these projects in the very near future.”

Vemo can be used for AI vehicular telematics in smart city deployments with multi-modal transportation hubs for improved mobility throughout the city. It has built-in GPS that plots on a map the exact location of the person or vehicle with the Vemo device, indoor or outdoor.

Iveda is positioning Vemo as more than just a typical body-worn camera for police officers. It has many practical applications beyond law enforcement. For instance, it may be used for remote site surveys and medical, health and safety applications. It may also be used as in-vehicle surveillance for taxi and rideshare services. Vemo is compatible with all GoPro accessories, which is ideal for leisure and extreme sports. Sports enthusiasts can now stream their adventures in real time. Vemo is also waterproof.

Unlike other bodycams, Vemo records video directly to the cloud. Should a Vemo unit gets damaged or lost before the user can return to headquarters, Iveda’s cloud platform ensures the video is preserved. Most bodycams on the market today require the user to return to headquarters to download video to a docking station before it can be uploaded to the cloud for viewing. A small number can stream live video, but they require a Wi-Fi connection to a router or smart phone.

Vemo transmits live streaming video instantaneously to the cloud without additional software or hardware. Vemo’s cloud management platform can centrally manage an unlimited number of devices and video can be accessed on a PC, Android and iOS client.

Vemo uses H.264 compression, which is twice as efficient as other video formats. Image quality is also significantly better, playback is smoother and requires lower bandwidth. Instead of traditional black and white IR at night, Vemo has full color night vision capabilities.

Vemo can function as a body-worn camera or can be mounted to talk to headquarters hands free, without having to reach for a phone or another radio. If necessary, the user can also connect an external camera for simultaneous live streaming and recording.

Vemo improves security, safety and decision making, allowing supervisors to coordinate tactical or emergency response in real time. It can act as virtual partner to the individual wearing it.

Moreover, Vemo can stream directly into the IvedaAI platform for real-time video analytics to search for faces, objects or license plates in real time.

“There is no other body-worn camera on the market today that can match Vemo’s unique capabilities,” said Ly.

MESA, Ariz. (October 24, 2017) – Iveda® (OTCQB: IVDA), worldwide enabler of cloud-based video surveillance and data management through the licensing of its Sentir® platform, today announced receipt of a follow-on order from Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) to supply Intelligent Traffic Solutions and video surveillance systems hardware and software that VNPT will install at another intersection in Phu Quoc City. In April, Iveda announced its selection by VNPT for the implementation of a nationwide Safe City initiative. The first two major cities of the Safe City initiative for the deployment of Intelligent Traffic Solutions and video surveillance systems have already contracted with VNPT. Iveda and its reseller in Vietnam have established a financing program with VNPT, to scale up the execution of the deployment in an expeditious and efficient manner, circumventing the long process of government funding. The program provides a vehicle for financial institutions to fund the purchase of Intelligent Traffic Solutions and video surveillance systems. Iveda will get paid upfront and the cities will pay a monthly lease for the life of each contract. “With increasing demand for Intelligent Traffic Solutions in many provinces and financing established, we can deploy in multiple provinces through the end of the year and throughout 2018,” said David Ly, CEO of Iveda. In the immediate future, Iveda has identified Intelligent Traffic Solutions deployment to a total of 713 districts. With an initial, single 4-way intersection pilot deployment alone for each district across the country generating an average of $70,000 per intersection, it would equate to $50MM in revenue in the next year. After the success of the initial pilots, VNPT has received dozens of requests of similar scale from the following provinces to deploy Intelligent Traffic Solutions in many intersections throughout the districts: Bac Giang with 14 districts, Can Tho with 9 Districts, Da Nang with 8 Districts, Hai Noi with 30 Districts, Hai Phoung with 15 Districts, Ho Chi Minh City with 24 Districts. “The Safe City projects implemented by VNPT are moving from the consultancy phase to the construction and implementation phase,” said Đặng Thanh Hưng, a representative from the Smart City Lab of VNPT. “Therefore, we will have many opportunities to deploy solutions for the provinces.” VNPT identified the following provinces: Phu Quoc Island, Kien Giang, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Can Tho, Ca Mau and Ho Chi Minh. This initiative gives VNPT the opportunity to supply telecommunications infrastructure including cable and fiber network for provisioning bandwidth and cloud services for data distribution and storage.  Iveda and its exclusive reseller in Vietnam are responsible for the delivery of hardware, as well as custom system design of the Intelligent Traffic Solutions and video surveillance systems. Vietnam is one of the fastest growing economic markets in the world and the government is motivated to improve traffic congestion and safety in the country to attract more tourists and international business. “Vietnam opportunities have reached critical mass for Iveda and we expect to have a prosperous 2018. We are excited to partner with our exclusive reseller in Vietnam and VNPT to improve safety and security to meet the needs of its growing economy,” said Ly.

MESA, Ariz. (April 20, 2017)Iveda® (OTCQB: IVDA), worldwide enabler of cloud-based video surveillance and data management through the licensing of its Sentir® platform, today announced that Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), selected Iveda with its exclusive reseller in Vietnam for a nationwide Safe City initiative. Along with the selection is the signing of an agreement with the first two major cities for the deployment of Intelligent Traffic Solutions and video surveillance system. The project will start immediately with each city requiring equipment installation at key intersections; the remaining intersections will be scheduled according to deployment capacity until the agreement provisions are fulfilled. Bac Giang has 90 intersections and Kien Giang has 200. Each intersection will garner revenue of U.S. $12,000 to $25,000 or more depending on traffic conditions. “We estimate $3 to $5 million in revenue per small city and as much as $10 to $20 million per large city. If we deploy just one large city in every province, total revenue would be more than $600 million over the next four years,” said Nguyen Tung, CEO of Iveda’s exclusive reseller in Vietnam. Iveda’s announced win today is the result of a successful paid pilot program to evaluate surveillance cameras and traffic control technologies that was announced in November 2016. The pilot was conducted in the city of Bac Giang in collaboration with the city of Kien Giang. “The government’s decision to move forward with the nationwide safe city initiative was based on the performance of the hardware and software technologies we employed in the successful pilot,” said David Ly, CEO of Iveda. “There is a government initiative, covering all 63 provinces throughout the country, for Intelligent Traffic Solution installations.” The government’s initiative calls for all major cities to begin deployment as soon as possible. Every city in each province will have its budget based on their respective needs. VNPT and Iveda will earn contracts from each city to implement Intelligent Traffic Solutions and install video cameras for general surveillance use. Special cameras and sensors for reading license plates and detecting speed of vehicles and motorbikes will be installed at intersections throughout each city. This initiative gives VNPT the opportunity to supply all of the telecommunications infrastructure including cable and fiber network for provisioning bandwidth and cloud services for data distribution and storage.  Iveda and its exclusive reseller in Vietnam are responsible for the delivery of products and technology, as well as custom system design of the Intelligent Traffic Solutions and video surveillance system. Vietnam is one of the fastest growing economic markets in the world and the government is motivated to improve traffic congestion and safety in the country to attract more tourists and international business. “We look forward to working with VNPT and our exclusive reseller in Vietnam. We are honored to help the government of Vietnam fulfill their goal of improving safety and security to meet the needs of its growing economy.” said Ly.
